My experience is primarily medically based, having worked in various hospital settings, including Stanford Health Care, Sutter Health, and currently Kaiser Permanente. Vanbik Speech Therapy offers an informal criterion-referenced, play-based assessment and/or a formal standardized assessment, allowing for a full picture of your child’s communication. Treatment is individualized based on each child and their goals. I make each session fun while striving to meet their communication needs.

I pride myself on establishing a “connection first” relationship with your child through play-based and child-led therapy to cultivate confidence, improve communication, learn problem-solving skills, and strengthen their own personal relationships. During initial sessions, I make sure to use their strengths/interests to work on their speech and language goals. Being a child who could never “sit still” herself, I also emphasize movement and sensory regulation strategies (e.g., swinging, jumping, crashing, pushing, fidget toys) in my sessions to help maintain an optimal level of focus and strong emotional regulation.

Martha not only helped him with his speech, but also gave him the confidence to communicate and be proud of his progress. She made each session engaging and supportive, and we are so grateful for the lasting impact she’s had on his life. She is not only a great speech therapist, she was such a caring person who truly cares about her kids. over a year later she still checks on him and asks how he is doing. Martha literally taught my kid how to eat. He refused all solid foods until 13 months old, when Martha invited him to learn with her about the mechanics of eating and having fun exploring food. She taught us so many tools and ideas to implement at home, and she worked with my son’s FPIES diagnosis. Martha is such a warm, fun, non-judgment

Martha is such a warm, fun, non-judgmental, *cool* personality in connecting with kids (and with parents, too!).
I honestly sometimes think to myself “WWMD: What Would Martha Do?” when I’m reminding myself of her tools to encourage food exploration and avoid pressuring our toddler. It’s ended up being a helpful mantra to repeat to myself when I’m feeling impatient or irritated by toddler eating (which is, of course, often). Martha is the best!

Adicionalmente quisiera recalcar que valoramos y apreciamos mucho que Martha siempre fue muy comprensiva y atenta con ellos, siempre estuvo en constante búsqueda de recursos adicionales relacionadas al problema que impledia la comunicación verbal de nuestros hijos para poder apoyarnos como padres con actividades que pudiéramos implementar tanto en casa como en sus escuelas como parte de su tratamiento (tanto en el caso de mi hijo con el AAC como el de mi hija.) Está ayuda la recibimos con gratitud ya que fue algo adicional a las terapias que ya recibían en su oficina semanalmente y que fueron siempre en beneficio de nuestros hijos.

Based out of San Bruno, CA. I am a mobile clinic, so I either come to your home, agree on a public place to meet (e.g., park, library, restaurant), or provide services virtually. I am currently serving families in person within the San Mateo, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties, and the greater California virtually. Driving fees may occur when outside of San Bruno City Limits.
** I do not accept insurance. Vanbik Speech Therapy is considered an “out-of-network” provider. A monthly invoice or “super bill” will be provided, upon request, if you would like to submit receipts to your insurance for potential reimbursement **
